Because I work in the area of touch (the model I use is the Wheel of Consent), I chose not to be professionally licensed as a therapist or similar practitioner. I have 20 years of coaching and counseling experience. I have a Masters Degree in the Social Sciences from McGIll University. Certifications & training include the following:
I offer counseling and coaching in the area of interpersonal relationships. This may include coaching, guidance and work around consent, with an emphasis on learning to give and receive. Three central themes and practices deeply inform my work: Consent, Breath and Appreciative Inquiry.
Professional skills and specialities include the Wheel of Consent as a foundation to learn giving and receiving, Urban Tantra as a path to incorporating breath and breathwork into one’s life and relationships, Appreciative Inquiry as a means to shift perspective from problem-focused to positive-focused.
English is my primary language; I have a useful (but not fluent) ability in French and Spanish.
I work with groups, couples and individuals, ages from 21 to 99, any gender. I have a good understanding of trauma and how it can factor in to relationships. I am very aware of the challenges that come up in sexuality, gender and body dysphoria and transition.
I am a skilled teacher and facilitator, having taught at the college level for 15 years. I offer workshops in a wide range of sexuality, gender and relationship topics. I am published in a number of edited works, and have been a contributor to a number of educational blogs and websites. I have given workshops and training sessions for small businesses.
