As a counselor, I believe that as individuals, we experience life through a lens shaped by many environmental, biological, and societal factors. Through better understanding our experiences and becoming aware of these factors that shaped us, we are able to move forward through life more authentically. I believe that finding meaning in life’s pain can bring great healing and that the broken-ness we feel is indicative of the journey of life. I believe that therapy can be a great tool in discovering one’s potential and uncovering beliefs that are keeping us stuck in the pain. I believe that you are the expert in your life and that you inherently possess the tools needed to become un-stuck.
I work primarily from an existential and person-centered framework and find great power in incorporating different techniques and modalities from other theories if/when the situation is right. Throughout clinical practicum, I worked with a range of individuals with a variety of life concerns including work concerns, interpersonal issues, trauma, depression, and anxiety. I am an LGBTQ+ allied provider and have a deep passion for working with individuals that may be experiencing stressors related to these identities. My hope for our journey together is that you feel supported and empowered to live a life of authenticity.
