As your therapist, I hope to provide a space for ALL of you, your joy, pain, fear, courage, and compassion. I began my love of therapy first as a client working through my own lived traumas. I spent a lot of time with therapists who didn’t look or have experiences like me. I found relief, but I never felt the depth I needed to truly heal. This inspired me to become a therapist.
The world we live in now is overwhelming at times, with an overload of information, divisive news outlets, and all of that on top of the daily ins and outs of just living as a human. Identity is more complicated than it has felt before and it is getting harder for us to connect with one another. I am passionate about working alongside my clients and finding a way to reconnect with themselves and their community. I do work with individuals, however, the more people in the room, it is my belief the deeper the work we can do. Bring the whole family or your special someone whoever is important to you.
Through my own healing work and my Master of Science in Couples and Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, I have realized that so many of our struggles originate with the expectations of society, our families, and the stories that we believe about ourselves. Identifying how this shows up for you is an important part of the process as well as deciding what stories you want to believe about yourself. We work together on making the choices you want for the change in you and your families lives.
I use Solution-Focused, Narrative, Bowen Family System and Trauma-Informed models in my healing work with a focus on Decolonial and Indigenous frameworks. I am Afro-Peruvian, European, Panamanian and I was born in the US. I am from the Inca and Moche peoples. I have lived experiences with the immigration, prison, foster care, correctional, mental health, and education systems.
I have experience working with LGBTQIA+ couples and families and have supported families through transitions. I also work with non-traditional couples and families including but not limited to same-sex, multicultural, polyamorous, and kink. I am passionate about seeing you for who you are, not for what the world might want you to be.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with a private practice, Awen Therapy, in Middleton, WI. My primary area of focus is alternative sex and sexuality along with alternative relationship formations including all forms of ethical non-monogamy such as polyamory. I am well equipped to work with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, decision making, and general life satisfaction.
My primary therapeutic approach is experiential, meaning I help you get in touch with your emotions, learn how to regulate them and how to integrate them with logical decision making to support you making the best decisions for yourself. I believe that we are happiest when we know our desires well and make decisions from a wise-mind state that incorporates both logic and emotion.
I work with adults and adolescents. I have experience not only helping individuals integrate polyamory into their lives but also supporting polyamorous parents. In addition to my therapy practice I periodically write for various blogs and publications and have presented workshops at various poly and poly-friendly conferences.
I provide online services as well as in person. I offer online coaching for anyone not in Wisconsin. Take advantage of a free 30 minute consultation in person, by phone, or online to see if we would be a good fit. You can schedule a free consultation, intake, or ongoing sessions online at my website awentherapy.com.

Empathy, safety and care are essential to me throughout the healing journey. I hold myself and my clients accountable to the goals we set together, approaching our work with diligence, consideration, and grace. Our therapeutic space is a collaborative one, and I adapt my techniques to meet your specific needs. However, one thing remains constant: my unwavering commitment to giving my best to help you become the best version of yourself.
As a scientist-practitioner, I am passionate about utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Liberation Psychology. Guided by principles of social justice, I strongly believe in the concepts of HAES (health at every size), I am kink/sex positive and strive to create an inclusive environment for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to Black, Indigenous, POC, LGBTQIA+, and Neurodiverse communities. I am also dedicated to supporting individuals exploring and processing trauma, faith deconstruction and religious trauma, substance use, men’s issues, LGBTQ+ identity development, transitions (gender and life), racial identity development, self-esteem, and ADHD/Autism. For couples work I am affirming to both monogamous and polyamorous couples.
I am intuitive and open to addressing what you bring to our sessions. My ultimate goal is to help you feel empowered with the necessary coping skills to live a value-oriented, meaningful life. Together, we can embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery, joy, peace, and mental wellness.

I am a licensed clinical social worker, queer artist, white/sefardi jew, radical leftist, and eldest sibling. I have about 12 years of collective experience in social work and therapy, including community-based mentorship and child advocacy programs. While I work across the lifespan, I specialize in psychotherapy for adolescence and young adulthood with a focus on intersectional LGBTQIA+ experiences; trauma processing; identity exploration; and anxiety and depression. Additionally, I have extensive experience supporting individuals who have been harmed by the child welfare system. I welcome work with queer, poly, and multicultural individuals from adoptive families, like myself, and love collaborating with clients to create culturally relevant brave spaces for narrative and relational exploration. I value a systemic perspective that is anticapitalist, intersectional, and ever-evolving. To be human is to have embodied experience that is not always verbally accessible. My experiences as an artist, avid puzzler, and former dancer, inspire me to complement our conversations with play, expressive arts, tactile activities, tarot cards (if that is your thing too!), and somatic interventions.

People tend to come to therapy when they find themselves at an impasse. Maybe you are facing a major decision, or an old way of coping has stopped working. Maybe you feel blocked from pursuing something you want. Most of my patients have significant strengths, and are functioning well in many areas of life, but come to therapy because they feel blocked in some important way, or sense that they could be more at ease, more flexible, more able to enjoy the positive things in their lives.
Of course, even very high-functioning people can experience very serious psychiatric symptoms. I have worked well with individuals struggling with anxiety (including panic, worry, and trauma) and mood disorders such as depression.
I particularly enjoy working with people in the LGBTQ community and have worked well with trans or nonbinary people in various stages of transition. I welcome patients with ‘alternative’ sexualities, including polyamory and kink and strive to provide an open, non-judgmental space for all my patients.
I work with adults 18+ only, individuals and couples/polycules.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions!

Licenses and Certifications
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) in WA State, Registered Provisional Art Therapist (ATR-P), ABS Certified Sexologist, and am currently working towards AASECT sex therapy certification under the supervision of Anne Mauro, Kim Castelo, and Tom Murray. I have earned my M.A. in Couple and Family Therapy with specializations in Creative Arts Therapy and Sex Therapy at Antioch University in Seattle, WA. Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Neuropsychotherapy (NPT-C) techniques for trauma treatment. I am also trained in Gottman Therapy methods and as a Gottman Leader for the 7 Principles of Making Marriage Work program and a Gottman Educator for the Bringing Baby Home program. I own a private practice, Creative Wellbeings, in Tacoma, WA, and work with a variety of clients (ages 13+) wanting to gain more knowledge about themselves and their experiences.
I am passionate about helping others find their creative energy in life, whether that be through talking, art-making, or mindful movement. What I value most about my work is helping my clients become more knowledgeable about their own needs, desires, and pleasures and using that to propel their therapeutic process. Additionally, I aim to help individuals and families strengthen their relationships to create lasting changes.
I offer a neutral, strength-based approach to my work to help you feel validated throughout your therapeutic journey. I utilize a systemic and holistic lens when viewing my work as I believe there is a strong connection between the mind, body, and spirit in relation to the various systems of the world that you may enter into. In addition, I offer an open, non-judgmental stance in my space and welcome those who are LGBTQIA+, non-monogamous, sex workers, and/or kinky.
My background prior to private practice encompassed a variety of settings and populations. My clinical journey began with children and teens with Autism Spectrum Disorders and behavioral disorders in schools, clinics, and in-home. I also worked in residential Eating Disorder treatment which has allowed me to become well informed in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders. My journey then brought me to work in residential treatment with clients who experience Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and in youth shelters for houseless youth under 24. During this time, I also worked as a home based Sex Educator for families wanting extra support in educating their children. During my clinical school internships, I worked with children/teens, families, couples, and adults. My wide range of experience has allowed me to provide many resources for my clients and has given me assessment tools for many issues that some clinicians may overlook.
708 BROADWAY STE100C, TACOMA, WA 98402, UNITED STATES
I empower clients to live a meaningful and purposeful life, feel a sense of safety in their bodies, and understand their own behavioral and attachment patterns. I am trained in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), a values-driven, behavioral therapy that helps us feel more aligned with ourselves in the choices we make. I also draw from attachment theory, internal family systems (IFS), and somatic approaches. My practice is feminist, anti-oppressive, sex-positive, and queer-affirming.
I value connection, authenticity, and autonomy. I understand that living and operating within the systems of modern life is distressing. I am an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I seek to educate myself through the experiences of others in the queer community.
I enjoy working with adults struggling with a sense of self and identity, the LGBTQIA+ community, and individuals feeling stuck or unmotivated.
In addition to working with individuals, I provide relationship counseling to partners who find themselves repeating the same arguments, engaging in behaviors that don’t feel helpful, navigating life transitions, or who simply want to communicate and understand one another better. My work with relationships is grounded in ACT and interpersonal therapy.

Sex & Relationship Therapist at The Intimacy Institute for Sex & Relationship Therapy.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Colorado (License: MFT-0001181) and a certified sex therapist with AASECT. I have three other sex therapists on my team, two whom I directly supervise.
The central goal of The Intimacy Institute Institute is to help clients enhance sexual function, pleasure, and knowledge of human sexuality, individually and in relationship. Because sexual experiences often take place in the context of relationships, we also blend the best practices in couples and marital therapy with sex therapy techniques.
The Intimacy Institute is open and affirming to all people regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, ability, age, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender, religious or political beliefs, and/or alternative forms of sexual expression and lifestyle. We also work kinky, transgender, and HIV+ populations. In addition, we have a male sex therapist who speaks Spanish.
5377 MANHATTAN CIRCLE, SUITE 204, BOULDER, CO USA
I am a feminist-oriented, queer-affirming, neurodiversity-affirming, body-positive/HAES therapist with 15 years of experience serving clients, including those who identify as poly and kinky. I support poly clients in navigating their emotions about polyamory and their relationship dynamics, and I also work with many poly clients who want a safe place to explore identity, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, body image, and other topics that aren’t exclusively specific to poly people.
I identify as a neurodivergent therapist, and bring both professional and lived experience to working with clients who have ADHD. My work with those who have ADHD (as well as my work with all of my clients) is grounded in a strength-based philosophy. This means that I do not believe my clients are broken; I believe that you’re full of strengths and resiliencies, and that my job is to help you identify and build on those strengths to help you overcome your challenges.
Finally, I am also a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional, with an emphasis on family planning decisions (especially as related to identity), infertility, high-risk pregnancy, and the transition to new parenthood. I have lived experience in all of these areas, and I also have experience working with clients who are members of poly/ENM families that include children.
I provide sessions in person, my rate is $225 per session, and new clients are asked to commit to a weekly schedule.
I look forward to meeting you soon!

I am also a kink-aware/friendly therapist. I also specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples.
